Coord Terms of Service
Effective date: August 1, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Coord ("Coord," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your use of the Coord application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or accepting an invitation to join a family account, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
1. Who can use Coord
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using Coord, you confirm that you meet these requirements. The Service is intended for personal, household use, not for commercial resale.
2. Family accounts with multiple members
Coord is designed to be used by more than one adult in a household. A family account may include a Conductor (the person who creates the account), and additional members invited as a Player or Audience. This section explains how these Terms apply when more than one person uses the same family account.
- Each individual agrees to these Terms separately. Every person who creates a Coord login — whether as a Conductor, Player, or Audience member — accepts these Terms for themselves when they create their account or accept an invitation to join a family account. Accepting these Terms is not done on anyone else's behalf, and one member agreeing to these Terms does not bind any other member.
- The Conductor is responsible for account-level decisions, including who is invited to the family account and the accuracy of information the Conductor adds about household members who do not themselves hold a Coord account (for example, children — see Section 7).
- Each member is responsible for their own conduct, including any content they add, any messages they send through Coord Connect, and their compliance with Section 8 (Acceptable use).
- Removing a member from a family account (by the Conductor) ends that person's access to the family account's shared information, but does not terminate the Service for other members of the same family account.
3. What Coord does
Coord is a household coordination tool. It brings information together from sources you connect and from things you enter, and organizes it into a single view for your household. Specifically, Coord:
- Reads email only from the senders and organizations you designate (such as a school, sports team, contractor, or travel provider) through Google's Gmail API;
- Uses AI to extract events, action items, and schedule information from that email, from a connected Google Calendar, and from files you upload;
- Identifies related events, action items, sources, and notes and groups them into "Movements," generating plain-language activity summaries about them;
- Lets members of your household message one another about shared events, tasks, Movements, and plans through Coord Connect;
- Lets you add events, tasks, and notes manually;
- Generates personalized briefings and evening digests; and
- Provides a conversational assistant (Coord Chart) that answers questions about your household's schedule.
Coord is an organizational aid, not an authoritative source of record. It helps you keep track of information, but it is not a substitute for the original sources (the actual emails, the school's calendar, the team's announcements) or for direct communication with the people involved. See Section 9 on AI features.
4. Private testing / beta status
The Service is currently offered as an early, in-development product made available to a limited group of testers. That means:
- Features may change, break, or be removed without notice.
- The Service may be unavailable at times, and data could be lost, although we work to avoid that.
- The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis (see Sections 10 and 11).
Please don't rely on Coord as your only record of anything important during this period. Keep access to your original sources.
5. Your account
You sign in using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for activity that happens under your own individual account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you personally put into Coord.
6. Connecting Gmail and other services
To use Coord's core features, you choose to connect your Gmail account and may connect a Google Calendar. By connecting these, you authorize Coord to access the data needed to provide its features — for Gmail, that means email from the senders and domains you designate, not your entire inbox.
You can disconnect these connections at any time, within Coord or from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Our access to and use of information received through Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Your content and data
You keep all rights to the information you put into Coord and the data Coord accesses on your behalf ("Your Content"), including any messages you send through Coord Connect. You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and your family account — including sending relevant content to our AI processor to extract and organize it, and displaying content you share with other household members through Coord Connect, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't claim ownership of Your Content, and we don't use it for any purpose beyond providing the Service.
You're responsible for having the right to provide the information you add, including information about other members of your household who do not themselves hold a Coord account.
8. Acceptable use
When using Coord, you agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Designate sources or upload content that you don't have the right to access or share;
- Attempt to access another user's or family's account or data;
- Use Coord Connect to harass, threaten, or abuse another household member, or any other person;
- Interfere with, disrupt, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service except as allowed by law;
- Use the Service to build a competing product, or resell or commercially exploit it; or
- Misuse Google APIs or any connected service, or use Coord to circumvent the limits or policies of any third-party service.
We may suspend or limit access if we reasonably believe you're violating these rules.
9. AI features and important limitations
Coord relies on artificial intelligence to read emails and files, extract schedule information, identify and summarize Movements, generate briefings and digests, and answer questions. AI is imperfect and you must treat its output accordingly.
- AI may misread, miss, duplicate, or misinterpret information. It may extract the wrong date or time, overlook a cancellation or change, generate an inaccurate Movement summary, or produce an answer that is incomplete or incorrect.
- You are responsible for verifying anything important — especially time-sensitive details like event times, dates, locations, cancellations, and deadlines — against the original source before relying on it.
- AI-generated briefings, digests, Movement summaries, and assistant answers are provided for convenience only. They are not professional, legal, medical, financial, or other expert advice.
- Coord does not guarantee that it will capture every event or detail from your sources, that extracted information or AI-generated summaries will be accurate or complete, or that briefings and reminders will be delivered on time or at all.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any consequence of relying on AI-generated or AI-extracted content, including missed, late, incorrect, or duplicated events, tasks, reminders, schedule information, or Movement summaries. Coord is a helper, not a guarantee.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any information it provides will be accurate or complete. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, missed events or obligations, lost opportunities, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — even if we've been advised of the possibility.
- Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Coord and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third party's rights, including in connection with content or sources you provide or messages you send through Coord Connect.
13. Termination
By you. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account removes your associated data as described in the Privacy Policy.
By the Conductor. The Conductor of a family account may remove another member from that family account at any time, which ends that member's access to the family account's shared information.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if we reasonably believe it's necessary to protect the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Where practical, we'll give you notice and a chance to export your data.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example, Sections 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14) will continue to apply.
14. Changes to the Service and to these Terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, particularly given its early-stage status. We may also update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date and notify you through the Service or by email before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Indiana will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that isn't otherwise resolved, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
16. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
- Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
